Valuation Litigation Support Senior

Business Valuation Functions:

  • Draft and edit valuation report narratives and supporting appendices
  • Prepare information requests in accordance with business valuation standards
  • Input financial statement data and build and check financial valuation models in valuation software
  • Evaluate and develop valuation premiums and discounts
  • Analyze business organizational documents to determine control and marketability features
  • Conduct subject company research and valuation database research
  • Research business valuation case law for applicability in valuation assignments

Litigation Support Functions:

  • Organize electronic and hard copy files for efficient retrieval and discovery purposes
  • Analyze financial documentation, including account and financial statements
  • Input financial statement and personal earnings data into Excel to conduct detailed financial analysis
  • Research case specific industry and economic information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certificate or willingness to sit for the CPA exam
  • ABV, ASA, and/or CVA professional designation(s)
  • Preferred 4 + years of business valuation and/or litigation support experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 2 – 4 years of previous business valuation and/or litigation support experience
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to focus on multiple projects and meet sometimes competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in use of computers and basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Value Source software a plus
  • Experience with litigation support and business valuation in the context of Texas Family Law a plus
  • Accuracy in data input and quantitative analysis

Audit Senior

Job Requirements:

Tax Senior

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong professional knowledge and the ability to deliver a broad range of services in the areas of tax and general accounting
  • Ability to prepare and review all types of federal and state income tax returns
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist clients with tax and accounting issues
  • Communicate with federal and state agencies concerning client matters
  • Manage workflow and meet deadlines

Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years recent bookkeeping experience
  • A working knowledge of the construction and/or oil and gas industries is a plus
  • Experience with Intuit Quickbooks and Sage Master Builder accounting software is preferred
  • Ability to interact with and assist various clients with monthly bookkeeping activities to include general ledger analysis, closing activities and other
    accounting procedures as needed
  • Strong experience with the full cycle of accounting
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence of sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Calculating and/or recording accruals and other journal entries
  • Recording accounts receivable and payable

  • Preparation of compiled financial statements

Students

RidoutBarrett attends accounting functions on many local campuses to provide students the opportunity to interact with our professional staff. While we do not have a specific target grade point average, we look for students who have graduated or are near graduation.

  • A previous internship with a CPA firm or other relevant experience would be a big plus for the student.
  • RidoutBarrett has established a goal of providing at least two internships each year during the spring semester.
  • Our interns are given the opportunity to work alongside our professionals during audit field work and tax return preparation.
  • We believe a student can be successful in our spring internship after having completed Intermediate II and federal taxation in their course of study.
  • We expect that each student we recruit for full-time employment will be CPA exam eligible and working toward the goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
