Opportunity for experienced auditor with 5-7 years of public accounting experience. We are a small firm experiencing double digit growth each year. Our culture is comfortable and fun, with a great team of people to work with.
This position is responsible for completing financial statement compilations and reviews, tax returns and participating on audit assignments; ensuring customer service levels are maintained.
Incumbent will,
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of audit procedures, and adherence to ethical conduct, as defined in the Code of Ethics developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
- Utilize basic knowledge and understanding of federal tax code, State of Texas Tax Code, and knowledge of other individual state tax regulations.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, etc.)
- Prepare financial statements (non-disclosure, full disclosure, reviewed and audited).
- Prepare consolidated financial statements as required.
- Perform onsite audit work to include, fieldwork, planning, and report preparation.
- Assist clients with accounting issues.
- Communicate with state and federal agencies regarding client matters.
- Review and analyze client financial data.
- Complete projects per budget and target date determined by Firm policy.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-7 years related experience
- Certified Public Accountant
- Ability to organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy of reports and data
- Ability to work independently, without close supervision
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of various tax programs and tax software (Lacerte, CS Engagement, etc.)
- Strong accounting software experience
- Knowledge of construction accounting software (preferred)
- Masters degree in accounting (preferred)
- Prior experience in public accounting (preferred)
